Love is pink

We’ve got these little pocket cameras lying around, but we’ve never actually got round to using any of them. There are some proper little gems in there — you know, the sort where you can swap the lenses and everything (Pentax 110). Well, and CP bought me another one not long ago, too. Even all that wasn’t enough to finally get my arse in gear.

But then today, a wonderfully pink ritschratsch camera fell into my hands. That was it. I immediately needed a cassette for it. CP then fished out a film cutter for me, and a developing reel for the Jobo tank, too. Just like that, I was absolutely on fire!

Luckily, we had guests coming over in the evening, so I promptly found the perfect victims for a few shots. The little pink treasure was still working—contacts clean, flash firing. So naturally, nothing stood in our way.

I’ll put it like this: it started with a glass of champagne, a little laptop that probably needed an update, and the rest of the evening then became, perhaps unfortunately for a weekday, a bit too much fun.

We made the cassettes ourselves and developed the film — but the results weren’t great. The transport mechanism didn’t work properly, so we ended up with accidental double exposures all over the place. Let’s just say the whole setup still needs some work before it’s ready for prime time.
